Star Women's Institute
Formerly Star Women's Rural Institute
The Scottish Women’s Institutes is Scotland’s leading member based organisation created by women in 1917 designed to bring women together, with a vision to welcome every woman in Scotland to join.
They aim to educate, share, campaign, learn, socialise, build a community and, of course, to have fun.
From life skills and arts and crafts to raising awareness of current affairs affecting women and helping inform government issues, the SWI is proud of its heritage and our future vision.
Star Women's Institute meets at the Village Hall on the third Thursday of the month. There is usually a presentation or talk followed by an opportunity to socialise over a cup of tea to allow members to make new friends and learn new skills. New members are welcome.
